In keeping with Sikh and Panjabi tradition, we are proud to offer our exquisite, luxury Sahi Chithi, designed for brides who appreciate elegance and sophistication.
Historically, the Sahi Chithi was a formal letter written by the bride's family, often by the Granthi Singh, extending a formal invitation to the groom's side. This letter outlined the details of the Anand Karaj ceremony and marked the beginning of the wedding festivities. In Sikh tradition, no wedding was considered official until the Sahi Chithi was presented to the groom's family, making it an essential part of the wedding rituals.
Our version of this timeless tradition combines luxury with deep cultural significance, offering a beautifully crafted piece that celebrates the beginning of a new chapter in the couple’s life.
We are proud to present what we believe is the first A3+ sized Sahi Chithi product on the market, and we’re honoured to have brought our vision to life with such precision. Creating this beautiful piece, which celebrates Sikh and Panjabi wedding tradition, has been a truly exciting journey for us.
To ensure the highest quality, we partnered with a prestigious UK-based company to produce our bespoke, ivory fabric-covered album cases and cover holders. These A3+ sized holders are elegantly hot-stamped with gold foil, featuring “Sahi Chithi” in both Gurmukhi and English. The album case and holder are both beautifully embossed with gold, creating a stunning presentation that reflects the luxury of the tradition. The back of the Sahi Chithi cover holder proudly displays our logo, marking the craftsmanship and care behind each piece.
The cover print and Sahi Chithi feature an exquisite, Mughal-inspired decorative border, drawing influence from the marble designs of the Taj Mahal. This iconic border not only enhances the aesthetic of the product but also symbolises love and romance, making it a perfect representation of the wedding celebration.
The design is further enriched with traditional Indian jali work and arch motifs, all meticulously foiled to highlight the intricate details and vibrant colours. The result is a stunning piece, where the craftsmanship and design speak for themselves.
The traditional Sahi Chithi is elegantly printed in Gurmukhi script on a soft-touch print, with spaces left for personal details to be added by hand. This customisation creates a meaningful, personal touch that transforms the piece into a timeless keepsake of the wedding celebration.
Our Sahi Chithi is more than just a product - it’s a cherished keepsake. It comes neatly packaged in its own custom album case, with the holder secured by a luxurious 20mm-wide smooth satin ribbon. Every element of this product exudes luxury and elegance, blending traditional Panjabi wedding colours with the rich beauty of Indian-Mughal design.
After careful thought and extensive market research, we’ve carefully selected three stunning colour options for our Sahi Chithi prints: Maroon, Pastel Pink, and Pastel Blue, each thoughtfully complemented with luxurious gold foil overprints.
The Maroon option embodies a timeless, traditional choice, perfect for those seeking a rich and classic aesthetic. It draws from the deep, cultural roots of Panjabi weddings, offering a colour that evokes a sense of heritage and celebration.
In contrast, the Pastel Pink and Pastel Blue options are designed for those embracing modern, contemporary wedding themes. These soft, delicate shades add a fresh and elegant touch, making them ideal for couples who prefer a lighter, more contemporary palette for their wedding décor. The pastel tones reflect the growing trend of using soft, understated hues in modern Panjabi weddings across the globe, offering versatility while still maintaining a sense of tradition through the gold foil detailing.
Whether you choose the richness of Maroon or the gentle elegance of Pastel Pink and Pastel Blue, each option is crafted to enhance the beauty and significance of this cherished wedding tradition, allowing you to personalise your celebration with a choice that resonates most with your style and vision.
